IMIEV
New Video: Mitsubishi i-MiEV Driving the Future

MMC has created a short video demonstrating the global appeal of the Mitsubishi iMiEV, including several scenes shot in the U.S., specifically Normal ("EV-Town"), Illinois. The video demonstrates how the Mitsubishi i-MiEV can play an important role in the future of transportation, feed power back into the Smart Grid, and the excellent showing of the production i-MiEV and the prototype i-MiEV Evolution race cars at this year's Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.

The English version of the video is now available on the MEL under Hot Topics with the name "iMiEV Promotional Video."

Mitsubishi Motors Unveils All-New 2014 Outlander and 2013 Outlander Sport Limited Edition at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show

MMNA showcases a pair of dynamic new product offerings at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show, opening this weekend: the all-new 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander crossover and the sharp-looking Outlander Sport Limited Edition compact crossover that commemorates the 30th anniversary of Mitsubishi Motors entering the North American marketplace.

Mitsubishi designers and engineers have given the 2014 Outlander a fresh new contemporary face that is both appealing and functional with reduced aerodynamic drag. Further aiding fuel economy is a lightweight body that tips the scales approximately 200 pounds less than that of the outgoing Outlander - all while providing a high level of collision safety and structural rigidity through use of high-tensile steel.

In addition to the 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander's long list of welcome standard amenities, available features include a next-generation navigation system, a state-of-the-art 710-watt Rockford-Fosgate® sound system, a power tailgate activated from the driver's seat or by the keyless entry remote fob, and advanced safety systems including a camera-based Lane Departure Warning system and radar-based Adaptive Cruise Control and Forward Collision Mitigation systems as well as the latest version of Mitsubishi's extraordinary Super All Wheel Control (S-AWC) all-wheel drive system.

Manufactured at the MMNA Manufacturing plant in America's heartland in Normal, Illinois, the 2013 Outlander Sport Limited Edition makes quite a visual statement with its distinctly ominous look, thanks to its blackout side mirrors, center bumper, wheel arch trim and roof rails, accompanied by special argent Limited Edition alloy wheels. The interior receives the same foreboding treatment with available two-tone Dove Grey and Black leather seating surfaces (power driver seat standard on the Outlander Sport Limited Edition). Vehicle performance is enhanced by a new engine balancer shaft that provides smoother and quicker acceleration. Rounding out this exquisitely styled package is special "Limited Edition" badging.

Outlander Sport Reviews

Outlander Sport on "Made-In-America" list (Motorwayamerica 11/15/2012 online)
http://www.motorwayamerica.com/editorial/ten-cars-you-didnt-know-were-made-america
"The compact crossover segment is getting more stylish every year, but the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport remains a standout. We're still fans of that big, trapezoidal grille on the vehicle that rolls off the line in Normal, Illinois."

Outlander Reviews

Outlander review by Sam Haymart (examiner.com 11/15/2012 online)
http://www.examiner.com/article/driven-2013-mitsubishi-outlander-surprises-with-off-road-credibility
"While this crossover sport utility has been overshadowed by many of its competitors, we found it offers up something unique and worth a look."
"Our GT tester came with handsome 18" alloy wheels that filled their openings well."
"While the Outlander is a crossover based SUV with a uni-body chassis, it still offers a visual level of ground clearance and off-road prowess many crossovers have left behind."
"Inside, the Mitsubishi Outlander GT has a well appointed leather interior with a plethora of storage spots including a dual glove box. We liked the genuine metal paddle shifters on the steering wheel which made for spirited driving."
"The seating position was near perfect, offering a very SUV-like commanding view, while still being comfortable."
"Off road we found the Outlander GT's suspension to be compliant enough to be comfortable in the back roads of our Arizona desert. The S-AWC system provided sure footed traction in all of our standard battery of tests without resorting to changing its settings off of Tarmac."
"One area where the Outlander GT really impressed us was an area we had expected to be let down. The EPA rates this mid-size seven passenger SUV at 19 mpg city and 25 mpg highway. We rounded out with an average observed 24.9 mpg, which included both city and freeway driving."

"The 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander, with either front-wheel or all-wheel drive, is one of the best compact crossover-utility deals in the U.S. market. It is a well-engineered, well-constructed vehicle."
"Ride, acceleration and handling: Excellent marks in all."
"Personally, I loved driving this one. That Mitsubishi V-6 is one of the smoothest and most responsive V-6 engines ever."
"I loved the way the all-wheel-drive Outlander GT, shod with 18-inch-diameter wheels, handled on wet, slippery roads. Heck, I loved the Outlander GT."
LANCER EVOLUTION REVIEWS
Lancer Reviews

Lancer review by Harvey Schwartz (AutomotiveAddicts.com 11/13/2012 online)
http://www.automotiveaddicts.com/33754/2013-mitsubishi-lancer-se-awc-review-test-drive
"The good-looking, affordably priced, fuel-efficient and content laden Lancer SE AWC will provide consumers with a lot of car for their hard earned money."
"The interior cabin is roomy with easy to see and use controls."
"A strong and quiet CVT (continuously variable transmission) along with the company's highly-capable All-Wheel Control (AWC) all-wheel drive system [are] great in the fall/spring/summer months for getting through the winter snows."
"The suspension fits the Mitsubishi Lancer SE AWC nicely with an independent front setup featuring MacPherson struts and a 21mm stabilizer bar. The rear multi-link setup features an 18mm stabilizer bar to help keep it stay on track during spirited driving times and ride solidly at speed on the highways. The standard rack & pinion electric power assist gives good feedback from the road surface with very good response to your inputs."
"The new 2013 Mitsubishi SE AWC rides on 205/60R16 in. Yokohama all-season radials for excellent grip and a smooth and quiet ride."

Lancer review by Derek Price (Clinton Herald 11/20/2012 online; St. Louis Post Dispatch 11/23/2012 page D5)
http://clintonherald.com/topnews/x453725704/Road-rally-technology-comes-in-an-affordable-Lancer
"Budget-minded buyers will be happy to learn that the more affordable Lancer SE now comes with a high-tech, all-wheel-drive system that feels like it would be at home flying down the rocky, dusty roads of the Acropolis Rally."
"Even on dry roads, the traction this car generates can make it a blast to drive. It's the same chassis as the Lancer Evolution, so although it doesn't have the full-blown power and track-friendly suspension of the Evo, it's got a balanced, solid feel when pushed into corners."
"It does have a heaping dollop of low-end torque that makes it accelerate quickly off the line. It feels like a healthy, meaty engine."
"Fuel economy is rated at 29 mpg on the highway and 22 in town, or about the same as the all wheel-drive Suzuki SX4 I drove a few weeks ago. The Mitsubishi, though, feels much more substantial. The subcompact Suzuki seemed dinky and lightweight in comparison."
"Inside, the Lancer's cabin is better than average for this class. It feels solid and looks good."
"As a whole, I've always thought there was too big a gap between the grocery-getter Lancer models and the pricey, street-racing versions. This new version, the SE, does a good job filling the void. It offers one of the best parts of the Evolution series - its ridiculously good traction - at a price a lot more people can afford."

Lancer Evolution Review

Lancer Evolution review by Phil Floriday (Automobile 11/22/2012 online)
http://rumors.automobilemag.com/2013-mitsubishi-lancer-evolution-a-car-im-thankful-for-186735.html#axzz2DczBIT8N
"Every single dollar above the base Lancer's price makes the Evo go faster and handle better."
"The Super All-Wheel Control awd system helps hustle the Evo trough turns in all weather, and road surface, conditions. Yokohama Advan summer tires, wrapped around either Enkei or BBS alloy wheels, deliver insane amounts of grip when the roads are dry. Every time I think I'm entering a corner too quickly in an Evo, there's not even a hint of tire squeal - the car just keeps gripping."
"This is purely a driver's car. A driver's car that will tackle any type of road you can find and completely engage you in the process."
"There are faster cars, more luxurious cars, cheaper cars, and many more logical cars. But I can't think of any car on the road today that makes me want to drive as hard as the Evo does."
